About Me

Network engineer by day, and an amateur photographer who struggles to see creatively by night.

I grew up and live in Northwest Indiana, about 35 minutes from downtown Chicago. I joke that I live in the armpit of America, but sometimes I really do believe it. I am saddened every day that I drive to work and pass the lake front to see an area which could be beautiful beaches polluted by steel mills and abandoned buildings. A move might be in my future. Time will tell.

Most of the photography you see on this site will be me experimenting with new techniques, perspectives, and software edits. It's all part of the long process of honing my skills and trying new techniques to see what I like best. You'll also see plenty of HDR as I really like HDR photography. HDR is one of those things you either love or hate. I like well done HDR, and hate poorly done HDR, but it's all personal preference.

About this site

I created this site because I wanted a place to host my pictures which be easy for friends and family to find. What good are the photos I take if they just sit on my computer and no one sees them? Also, I never actually like the photos I take, but when I show them to other people, they are impressed. I guess I need that reassurance to make me feel like I'm not wasting my time :)

Flickr is great for showing off photos to the world, but this site is intended to create a central location for my images.
