Stephen Bader I broke down last weekend and bought a Canon 7D. I was originally going to buy the new T2i, but once I had the 7D in my hand, I couldn't put it down. Once you've held a 7D, the Rebel series feels like a toy. I am going to keep my XSi as a spare body though.
I had wanted to get an SLR with HD video for an upcoming trip to the Smoky Mountains. Now that I have the 7D, I should be able to get some awesome HD video from the Smokys. I just need to get plenty of CF for the trip!
I had the day off today so I went out to get some shots. This is one of the first outdoor shots with my new 7D. This is straight out of the camera, no PP. What do you think?

Stephen Bader This SHOULD be the last barn photo this week. Ironically, I found this barn just down the road from the previous one, and then I struck out the rest of the day. The sky was an ugly gray when I was shooting these barns, which makes it hard to contrast a nice big red barn against a blue sky. It also makes it hard to keep the sky from blowing out!
Both barn photos were shot with the Canon 10-22 lens. I recently bought this lens, and now it never comes off my camera! You have to be careful with this lens, it gets so wide that you might get your feet in the shot! (I kid, but it is amazing how wide this lens goes)
As usual, I pulled this photo over to Topaz Adjust. I told you I'm becoming addicted...

Stephen Bader I drive by this barn a few times a month, and I'm always intrigued by the fact that there are bird houses atop every single fence post completely surrounding the barn. I could spend all day snapping photos of the bird houses alone, but that would require getting permission from the property owner. I'm more of an opportunistic photographer.
As I approached the barn today, I pulled over to the side of the road a bit and snapped a few photos. The sky was blown out on most of them, but i was able to salvage this one in Lightroom, and then I moved it over to Photoshop to fire up the Topaz Adjust filters. I love Topaz Adjust so much, I'm starting to worry that it's the only post processing I do now!
As you can tell, a bit of HDR to this photo. What do you think?
